Theory
Music Theory is about learning the practices and possibilities of music. Music is a language of its own. It is important as the music journey progresses to learn to understand music notation, history of music and musicians and the principles involved in writing musical pieces.
We offer online music theory lessons but in person lessons are also available.
Music theory is a fantastic supplement to playing music, improving students’ understanding of how music is put together and strengthening their reading skills.
The online format allows for great flexibility for students.
- Each lesson comes with a short video explaining the assignment.
- Students submit their assignment to the teacher and receive feedback on their work.
- Students are free to contact the teacher at any time to ask questions.
- Typically, students will follow the ABRSM theory course, though they are welcome to choose other exam boards or other theory options as suits them.
- Music theory is particularly useful for students who are preparing for practical examinations.
As with practical music lessons, we charge in advance of lessons. Online lessons are charged at €8 each, while the in person lessons are the standard €20 per lesson.*
